Mangalore Airport, in Bajpe, is located around 10km from the city. The airport is well connected to all major cities and towns of India.

Mangalore Central is located at Hampankatta. It is a terminus and is used only by the trains that terminate at Mangalore. Mangalore Junction is situated in Kankanady. Most long-distance trains and all trains not terminating at Mangalore stop at this station.

The state-run bus service connects Mangalore to neighbouring cities and towns. AC Volvo buses run by private operators are also available.

Mangalore is well connected to Goa, Mumbai, and Kerala via NH 17, to the state capital of Bangalore via NH 48, and to Hyderabad via NH 13.
